Q2 2011 GDP Grows 4.7 Percent
Georgia’s real GDP grew 5.8 percent y-o-y in Q2 2011 according to preliminary figures released by the National Statistics Office. GDP deflator was up at 10.7 percent and nominal GDP reached GEL 5.848 billion. 1H 2011 real GDP growth was at 5.2 percent.
Largest shares in GDP where held by following sectors: Manufacturing (16.5 percent), Trade (15.9 percent), Public Administration (12.2 percent), Transport and Communications (11.3 percent), Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (9.8 percent), Health and Social Work (6.3 percent).
Double-digit y-o-y real growth was observed in Financial Intermediation (up 29.1 percent), Hotels and Restaurants (up 11.6 percent), Manufaturing (11.1). Reduction was posted in Mining and Quarrying (-13.6 percent) and Construction (-3.9 percent).
